Kids being kids, it was not long before America?s youth discovered that Buckyballs? can be used as faux body-piercing studs. Because Buckyballs? are extremely dangerous when ingested, efforts to simulate tongue-piercings have led to serious gastrointestinal injuries. Other children have simply confused the Buckyballs? for dragees, small sugar balls for decorating baked goods, and have been similarly injured.
