In a bipartisan vote on Thursday, July 26, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations passed a resolution of advice and consent to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Committee voted 13-6 to amend and advance the resolution on what was the twenty-second anniversary of the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Senators approved proposals that addressed concerns regarding abortion practices, as well as the role of the United Nations.
